icant believe it is happening!!!!!! this is a copy and paste from alick nkandawire..... Former Malawi leader Bakili Muluzi had an audience with president Peter Mutharika yesterday. High on the agenda was how to handle the trouble which is brewing about the North secession/federalism, among other development issues. Mutharika is said to have expressed much fear on the pressure group, calling for secession of the Northern region. He recalled that the call for National Wide anti-governmentdemonstrations in 2011 which in the end created a bad environment for his brother to govern, leading to his subsequent death, started at a very lower unpromising note but gathered momentum at the end of the day. Mutharika is afraid that these ghosts may come again to haunt his government as people are expressing dissatisfactionwith the way he is appointing people in government positions such that today, only people from the Southern region, specifically from the Lomwe belt are superior than people from central as well as Northern region. He couldnt believe that he could see similar scenes as that of Tunisia, Egypt massive demonstrations which toppled their respective dictators. It was observed that It is understandable for people from the central region to remain quite as they are doing. It is their nature to suffer in silence and this is attributed to lack of proper education by most citizens of the central region whereas people in Northern region, small in number as they are, are very vocal. They simply cant be duped and they voice out their concerns for everyone to understand their frustrations, the undeniable reason being that most of the people from the Northern region are properly educated and therefore enlightened to understand the World around them. Muluzi then advised Mutharika to engange Mzomera Ngwira and company and where possible palm-oil them in-order to silence them. The general understanding was that this debate must be nipped in the bud
