Death Devoured I am death, whom many fear I whisper nightmares in your ear Ill strike swiftly late at night Or when the sun is high and bright Im the destroyer of your day The one who takes your breath away My teeth are strong and bite like steel I grind the strongest men to meal My face is black with touch so cold I strike the young, I pierce the old I drain out color, I suck out life I am fire, I am ice My name is feared by many brave Im the company in your grave I always win, I cannot lose You are powerless, you cant refuse Try to cheat, ha! go and try You all will end, you all will die Yet there was One, who cheated me I thought I had Him, till day three I heard the screams come from His lips The vinegar, and gall He sipped I saw Him hang upon that cross I saw His blood, I felt His loss I saw Him take that final breath Hello I said, my name is death I know, said He, I know your name You brought me grief, you brought me pain And though I hung upon that tree You never were a match for me You bit my heel, but I crushed your head Remember now the words God said The keys of hell are no longer thine Your sting is gone, the victorys Mine It is finished! The war is done! Death has lost, and Life has won!
