im really, very excited for the future tonight, friends... when i moved back home to richmond in august of 2011, i never would have thought that life would be what it is today. my original plan was to come home for a minute, save up some money, and head to the big city to try my hand in a huge market. in the process of gearing up to pursue my dreams, i found a new and completely unexpected dream: an ensemble-based theatre company now called TheatreLAB. almost 3 years later since my plans changed, ive found myself working on something ive never been more proud of in my entire life with some of the most amazing people ive ever encountered. its absolutely terrifying to put all of your time, energy, money, and passion into something, but ive genuinely never been more happy or fulfilled as an artist as i am today. the fact that were now on this crazy journey to create our own home in the heart of the arts district of my favorite city in the world is insane, but im absolutely thrilled. now with The Basement, we at TheatreLAB have the amazing opportunity to continue to stretch our legs as a young arts organization and provide even more opportunities to emerging theatre professionals as we produce exciting theatre, projects, and programming. there is still so much work that we want to share with our community, and we really need the help of our friends and families to make it a reality. were in the final days of the first leg of our capital campaign and although we know this is only step one in a long journey to bring The Basement to life, we hope that you will help us along the way. so many of you have already made donations, shared this page with your own friends and family, come to see our shows and special events, or even helped us in countless other ways: for this, we are eternally thankful. please take a moment to continue to spread the word in these last few days of our first campaign. we dont quite know what the future holds for us, but we are enthusiastic and optimistic. we never thought wed find ourselves in this place, but we are so proud to be here. thank you, and i love you. :)
