in 2007 I heard the The Felice Brothers for the first time. It was unworldly. The rawness, the talent, the muffled strings, and scruff stole my heart immediately. Most of all I loved the joy it sounded like they had doing it. I wanted that joy. Pharaoh, my Pharaoh the devil is real. Hes in my Camaro with his teeth on the wheel. that line stays on my brain 7 years later. Id like to say I knew the road was leading here, Id like to say my stubbornness and willpower was signs of that but to be honest Ive walked this road because it makes me happy and brings me the same joy I heard on that album. I will have the opportunity to work with the man that helped me figure out how to walk this road. In a studio where Bob Dylan has recorded in. In a town the basement tapes were recorded and shaped me 50 years later. Im blessed. To hear someone thats had such a influence on you say, Your music is the kind of music Im excited about! is really overwhelming. The boys and I have worked hard to get where we are but I would have laughed in your face if you told me earlier this year Id have that conversation with Simone Felice. Thank you to everyone who has encouraged, listened, hosted, purchased, and been a part of this from the beginning and along the way. The boys and I are truly overwhelmed. To all the folks that said I couldnt sing, couldnt play, that we were too rough, wouldnt pay, heckled, and said itd go nowhere take a good hard look. Because dreams sometimes come true.
