~ in the midst of all of this discord in America right now I would like to take a minute & say that I Love you. When I was a kid & I learned about the circumstances of being an adopted child - my heart & my mind went wide open. Growing up in a world where people are semi-defined by who they resemble in their families & being a single individual is quite an experience. When I was studying to get my GED diploma - my teacher read some of my poetry & told me that Wesley, you are alone, but you should never let yourself be lonely - over the years I have learned that in fact that I am not alone - in fact most people who know my family think I look just like my Grandfather Orlando, & my Father Orlando Jr. - some folks who have seen a photo of my Great-grandfather Giovanni think I look a lot like him as well - which leads me to believe that Love is in fact what shapes us. Love is what makes us grow. Love is the foundation of how we see ourselves.
