is feeling disappointed due to being unsuccessful in the moose hunt....as I frantically put in every effort I could wrap my mind around there were several things that just could not go unnoticed...the soaring,majestic bald eagles,,,the court jester like whiskey jacks unknowingly entertaining,,,,,bull moose grunts reminding-us who the king of the forest is and the bellow of his windbag queen,,,,the cute but vicious martens swiftly on the hunt,,,,the long drawn out howl of the lone wolf and the excitement of the pack,,,,the beavers relentlessly trying to block all waterways,,,the motionless spruce grouse believing theyre going undetected,,,,the narrow river rapidly twisting through a land filled with muskeg that is capable of consuming an entire man,,,the Tamaracks that dare to be different in a forest dominated by black spruce,,,the precarious bridges built by hunters gone past,,,,the sky appearing close enough that one could reach out and touch it as the dazzling northern lights brighten the sky long after sundown,,,the laughs in camp and the stories of hunts gone and the reminiscing of the day that had just closed out,,,the sound of the raindrops beating off the rooftop of the large tent we call home in this vast land,,,,yes,,,sadly we were unsuccessful in putting a tag on the critter of choice,,,but thankful of the experience in witnessing the success that northern Ontario surrounded me with....
