is ready to crash for the night, another long day of walking and sight seeing. went on the staten island ferry and you could see ellis island and the statue of liberty. couldnt see it up close like the the other ferry rides that are in new york but this one was FREE so thats why we went to it:) then after we checked out the old five points neighborhood. thats where Gangs of New York was set and back in the mid 1800s this was the slums of the slums. its all different now, the only part that still remains is this one intersection of two streets that made up the original five points. if youre wondering it was called five points cuz it was a neighborhood that had an intersection that had five streets that meet all at one point. then after we went to lombardis, the first pizzeria in america. hopped on a train, the right train this time:), and went up to rockafeller center and walked around there. saw radio city music hall. walked some more around uptown manhattan. saw the chrysler building, grand central station, and the new york public library while we were looking for a subway station to get back downtown:) couldnt find one so we caught a bus and met up with our cousin who was just getting off of work. and now its the end of the night and we have an early day tomorrow. gotta check out the museums and i still have a few places to see. only two more days left out here, have to do some major cramming:)
