is sitting on the tarmac watching the Alaska™ ground crew de-ice the plane before take-off. Ive seen this done countless times on countless planes. I always want them to hurry up, to speed me on my destination. Tonight, as the nation and I wait for the Ferguson Grand Jurys verdict to be read, I find myself hoping the de-icing process will drag on for another half-hour. I know this wont happen. I know Ill be within the air in a matter of minutes. And for the following two (2) hours afterward, youll all know what they decided but I wont. I have to wait till I land to learn the fate of a city I called home for two (2) year...a city I love dearly. I hope this knot in my stomach ultimately ends up a meaningless gesture. I feel guilty for it even being there, as if Ive somehow lost faith that hundreds of thousands of people on both sides will choose to distrust and injure their fellow man instead of reasoning out the truth. I hope I land in the same world I left. Good luck, everyone.
