it is cold in STL this morning. The thermometer said at 6:15 AM it was a balmy 30 degrees. Most of my gardening before frost jobs are done. I still have to dig out the tube roses roses and replant the broccoli rabe for next spring. My pencil cactus has moved into the family room. From a tiny plant in a four inch pot, it is now four feet tall, three feet at its widest and lives in a 14 inch diameter pot. The plant is such an interesting one, all green fat tubes with the occasional appearance of tiny green leaves. It is a lot like something Dr. Seuss would have designed. I am seriously considering decorating it for Christmas.
