it seems Independence Day has become the day of lamentation! the day to debate if India is really independent, the day to take the vow of never celebrating the independence day until there is no corruption, no communal riots, no beggar on the streets, no woman is raped, no child is abused or no one is unemployed. some also cry over the fact that people are planning short weekend trips. yesterday i even saw a post suggesting the reclamation of Pakistan and Bangladesh in order to make true sense of independence!!! Dear friends, please understand that India IS independent... the independence of self-rule, free from foreign control! the issues you raise are serious crisis of todays India. but do you expect Mahatma Gandhi or Bhagat Singh to fight for them? they did what their time needed them to do. Lets not just complain on facebook on a particular day, lets not disrespect what the freedom fighters did for us, lets celebrate what we have and act ourselves for the changes we want to see! Happy Independence Day to all!
