FAILURE TO CHECK THE ALREADY EMPLOYED BY THIS COMPANY BOX, ENTER YOUR EMPLOYEE ID, AND SELECT THE CORRECT BARGAINING UNIT WILL RESULT IN A REJECTED BID APPLICATION Number of Vacancies: 4 Essential Duties •Supervises the receipt, storage, issuance and delivery of large quantities of packages including physical property inventoried by the department •Oversees the completion of physical inventories •Supervises the inspection of goods received against receiving reports •Supervises the maintenance of files and inventoried property for record keeping purposes •Maintains security for inventoried property •Operates a departmental vehicle to deliver documents, evidence and intra-departmental mail •Answers inventoried property related telephone inquires •Enters, updates and retrieves data on a desk top terminal •Prepares inventoried property for auction, destruction or confiscation •Reviews and reconciles inventory reports to recognize and reduce errors NOTE: The list of essential duties is not intended to be inclusive; there may be other duties that are essential to particular positions within the class. Michigan, Chicago, IL 60653 SHIFT: Monday through Friday Monday through Friday HOURS: 8:00 to 4:00 6:00 to 2:00 THIS POSITION IS IN THE CAREER SERVICE Qualifications Three years of progressively responsible inventory control or storekeeping experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. NOTE: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time Must be able to move hands and arms to grasp or manipulate objects NOTE: A valid State of Illinois driver’s license is required at the time of processing Disclaimer - Accredited means any nationally or regionally accredited college, university, or law school where the applicant is enrolled in or has completed an Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or Juris Doctorate degree program. Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following: •Previous experience in a position responsible for inventory control, storekeeping or mailroom functions •Previous supervisory experience related to the responsibilities of the position •Previous experience in a position preparing disciplinary action reports and/or statistical reports •Proficiency operating a personal computer (PC) NOTE: To be considered for this position you must provide information about your educational background and your work experience. SELECTION REQUIREMENTS This position requires applicants to complete an interview. Failure to answer the question and attach the required documentation will result in you not being considered for the Veterans Preference.
