just had a phenpm ph call with good friend of many years.....in florida ......heat zone, if you get my bball drift....an hour and nine minutes about mostly bball............he realizes we are living in an age of the new Lakers Celtics Rivalry in Spurs Heat.....and tho he is in FL, he is cheering for our guys............and...he was astonished that our Big Three TD MG and TP have surpassed Magic, Kareem and Cooper in trio wins......he said he is trying his hardest to know how Spurs fans feel, the familial closeness we feel to each other as fans and to team and team to us.....I quoted Pat Wood.....on how difficult it is to explain it..............he said the closest he thinks he can come is his years at Michigan.....and I reminded......but.....the most years youd have someone is four, weve had Tim and Pop 17......i explained out of all those years.....how we havent missed the playoffs for 16???? how it is our first back to back finals.........and what Tim said.....were going to get it......God willing and I believe it..........and i told him what David Chancellor said......last year after that loss......that The Spurs came back from a Finals.....for the first time, then, without a trophy, but that they gained something they had never had before......the love of the nation......they became Americas darlings......and now, I explained Tims and the entire teams resolve.......and it wont come down to only Xs and Os.....but driven hunger and taking back what we felt was ours......i explained how USA Today had LeBron retorting to Tims comment about taking it with Bring It.....we want it..........and Phil, my friend said, they, the Heat, likely know that people feel they lucked out........and that they want to play the Spurs to prove they can take them and take them well..........but The Spurs have already decided, theyre banging down the door with one intent only, and Phil said, man, this is turning into The Lakers Celts of the 80s......I said Malik Rose said Tim is coming back next year and TP sd the same months ago, i said, I have a dream.....thjat tim takes it this year and comes back next and gets six......one game, one series at a time........one year at a time.....but the point is......they are truly the two best teams, most equally matched in power and mind......and that even casual basketball fans wanted to see them because of that.....Dan LeBatard said they should have just been co-champions last year and cant figure out the calculations as to who should be the fave.....so evenly matched.......this will be good, people, this.....is the new and highest rivalry in the last 15 years of the NBA.....and if Heat stay put, who knows about next years Finals...............this is Tims and Spurs first back to back Finals......and as Skip said about the Spurs first back to back Finals.....THEYRE IN IT, AND....THEYLL WIN IT........and i say, THIS is their first back to back FINALS APPEARANCE, and I expect and dream and envision.....and hope fir and believe we can.....then.....work towards our one final goal, a back to back ship which would tie TD to MJ.............I HAVE DREAMS.......and I see things that can support them....but for now, GO GET NUMBER FIVE, hungry
