just rented a room 2 miles from johns house here in detroit. its a month-to-month. perfect. bed, teevee, kitchen and bathroom privileges. john gets his next CT scan and MRI on the 10th. sees the doctor to go over the results on the 18th. starts chemo shortly thereafter. hes glad im staying on. i was afraid i was getting on his nerves, but he says no. it is so beautiful here that its indescribable. art is everywhere. people painting on buildings. saw a house yesterday that had pieces of mirror glued onto the roof in a beautiful pattern. the buildings are gorgeous, whether they are abandoned or not. amazing, AMAZING architecture. detroit is 313 years old this year. almost all residential streets are beautifully tree-lined with the branches meeting overhead. houses are like postcards. old. gorgeous. the best middle eastern food i have EVER eaten. john has picked an amazing place to live. i am so glad im here.
