just sent to gov patrick: Dear Gov. Patrick, You have shown, many times, that you truly care about your constituents. You threatened to boycott Hyatt Hotels when their employees threatened to strike which seemed to help both sides come together. That being said, I am both extremely disappointed and disheartened by your decision to not stand with the 25,000 Market Basket associates and millions of Market Basket customers. Do you realize what this means for the communities across the Commonwealth? Do you understand that this is not only between 2 cousins anymore? The DeMoulas family dispute has spilled into the grocery aisles and the actions taken by one cousin (hiring corporate raiders with reputations for destroying companies) started this ball rolling. When the economy crashed in 2008, under Arthur T DeMoulass leadership, Market Basket continued to thrive. He led this strong company, debt-free and profitable, through a time when other companies could not survive at the capacity they were previously at. We customers, and most of the fine Market Basket associates, are your constituents. Do you really comprehend how this 1 grocery chain affects the economy of the Commonwealth? From farmers to food pantries to vendors and even the dumpster companies are being affected by this Customer Boycott. We customers are standing up for our family, friends, and neighbors who work at Market Basket or at the many companies whose livelihoods depend on Market Basket. Please help me to understand why you chose to speak up for 100 hotel workers yet refuse to speak up for 25,000 grocery store associates and roughly 2 million consumers. Your silence speaks volumes about what you, as our elected official, care more about. Humbly, Erin
