k- on my way back home today I passed a lovely fenced in large pasture with a about a hundred or so sheep grazing..I was curious, dont ever see sheep in the south..So I pulled in the service road along the fence to talk with the Farmer/ Rancher I saw standing there..those are some fine looking sheep ya got there I said, he thanked me kindly..Said he raised them mostly for some company in New York state..He talked about raising them for awhile, then eventually he asked me if I liked eating them? I admitted I never have, I told him the closest I ever come to eating them was on Easter in 1960 something when my daddy got a hold of a leg of lamb.. He put it in the oven, and about an hour later he grabbed a big pot holder snatched it out of the pan and threw it out side in the backyard, (much to the delight of our yard dogs).. I said daddy, what you do that for? He allowed it smelled like a dead human body cooking..I was in WW2 I KNOW what that smells like..So we had ole tried & true and quick meatloaf for Easter dinner.. He chuckled and said Miss Cole, not my favorite either, but I do like the way my Mrs. makes those lamb chops, would you like a few? Ill run up to house & get ya some, well he did, I thanked him for his time & trouble, then said I best be on my way & get them back in the deep freeze.... I put them frozen chops in my freezer when I got home.. Here is my dilemma-I have no idea how to fix them..anybody know how? If so would you in-box a recipe to me? As I said, southern folk dont eat sheep as a rule, so asking my friends around here would do me no good.. Thank you in advance!
