ke 16:23-31 King James Version (KJV) 23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. 25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. 26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. 27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my fathers house: 28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. 29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. 30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. 31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead. Getting saved is not some weird mumbo jumbo. Its what happens when you read the Bible with the intent of finding out what the heck is supposed to happen when you do. You start feeling around for this Jesus of Nazareth Person. He claimed He was God. See how people reacted who knew Him. Before and after He rose from the dead in a body wearing nail holes in His hands, a spear scar in His side - yet after the beating of a lifetime and six hours on a cross - He was happy go lucky, having come back from His Father after delivering His blood as the living sacrifice God needed to defend His holiness agains the sin Satan entered into humanity. God and Satan are still warring up there. Whats the point of believing all this. It support the plot of the Bible. Really it is all about Him - the coming Christ - Messiah - King of Israel - Servant of God - Prophet - Priest and King. God the Son. As David said in the Spirit - The Lord said to my Lord - God made a deal in Genesis3:15 After the sin that they ate the fruit they were told not to eat. They doubted Gods was the best way - and Satan tricked them into believing sin was better than righteousness with God. Thats the first lie. The lie that started that lie was Satans rebellion that God made Satan so cool - Satan was too good not to have his own worshipers - and 1/3 of the angels were too cool for school also - and the fight goes on. God knows Hes going to win - but I think God enjoys the battle. Thats just my opinion - but God lets conflict take place .. Its His way of defeating sin. He just kills people. Their life is always in His hands. He gives life and He takes it away. And one of two places take delivery of yet another one that died. And here Christ shows Hell. peace Oh saved! You believe Christ Jesus is God - and in human flesh died. Was buried. Rose from the tomb alive - floated out of his bandages - angels moved this rock heavy bolder - and He was out - Sunday morning early - and people saw Him - and He split and came back from heaven. You believe He lived. He died. He rose alive the third day in a resurrected body. Not a beat the heck body. New. Different. A Spirit body - but a body. That had flesh and bones Christ said - and He ate food. this is offered with eternal life. not eternal damnation. so you open a Bible and read Mark and John and meet who He is about. Whats His motivation? Hes always talking to Abba, Father and taking directions. He never thinks up an idea - Father and Spirit lay everything out to be done. Hes in a play with a part to play - and the people are reacting wildly. Who is this Man? Is He the Son of David? Is this the Messiah? John the Baptist said He was the Messiah and saw the Spirit descend from heaven and land on Christ Jesus - and The Voice from heaven of the Father spoke He loved His beloved Son and was well pleased with Him. Love to hear praise from Your Father. And have the Spirit power to make things work out exactly - hearing peoples thoughts - Hes way more technologically advanced than the simpletons He is dealing with. Hes always trying to catch people up. No. You are stuck in your sin. This is how you get out. The word of God. He was sowing the Word of God about His Kingdom, but the Jews didnt want to play. The Jews wanted to war against Rome and they wanted the power of God to do it like their ancestors used to have that great advantage. Nicodemus that early night in the ministry tried to incorporate Christ Jesus skill into joining the Pharisee agenda - but they wed of the flesh - and He was of the Spirit. But Christ Jesus did this man a great favor - He showed Him how to get into heaven. John chapter three. long before three sixteen you need water and the Spirit to be born again. All must get this new thing in your inner man. Thats the ticket for heaven admittance. Believing in Christ with Gods help using the washing power of the Word of God - the living water of life everlasting. John 3 shows Christ Jesus is God. All of John does. You have to look up to Him on the cross for six hours and know what He accomplished there for you. And when that happens - you know you owe Him big time. So to please Him - you agree to love and forgive instead of hate and blame. Stuff like that. You are kin to other believers. Family. with the Same Abba Father who adopted all us saved sinners - as He called us to be - and made happen in Ephesians - a wonderful telling of all we are new in Christ. Were in Christ and Hes in us. We are plugged into the vine like branches. We are His bride to be - when the Father gives the signal - and the church age of grace ends - a we are resurrected. In the twinkling of an eye - When Christ calls us home with all the sinners made saints of all history - arriving in heaven and being one by one Judged By Christ - for how many rewards we earned. The passage from the Bible out of Luke above - is Christ talking about people who remained lost and chose not to get saved -- no man of God could offer the eternal life deal well enough for them - so they never read a Bible with any intention of understanding it - and giving God a chance by asking - Can you help me with this please - Lord God. You have to approach God believing that He is. I didnt for a long time. Life was kicking me in the teeth. Literally. Something happened when Dad died - and I got sick - and the pain was brutal - and I couldnt not go to the Bible and find a way to heal me! Ha. I went to church 3 times a week - read the Bible and pray - and I got six years of treatment - and a Bible education reading the commentaries and radio programs of Dr. J. Vernon McGee an old time preach originally out of Texas - well versed in the King James Scofield Bible. Which I aim to be. See ya. Peace.
