like clockwork, i once again woke up spontaneously in the middle of the night, unable to go back to sleep. so naturally, how am i gonna live without you, zuckerburg? now, to this very important video. i feel susans pain and passion. i understand her position and argument. but since time immemorial, when humans had rocks and clubs, to spears and bows and arrows, to pistols and rifles, to cannons and tanks, to bombs and missiles, all were doing is perpetuate and escalate the violence. i may sound unrealistic, idealistic, and unpatriotic; and maybe i am but our approach has not worked. and as humans, to continue, we have become lazy and bland. we have lost our creativity, incapable of thinking. if there is one good reason why god gave us free will, maybe this is it. and separate ourselves from animals survival instinct and aggressive behavior for self-preservation. we, as a whole, change our way of thinking, attitude and behavior, and resist being pushed, manipulated and exploited through fear. i can tell you that the people pulling the levers of the military/industrial complex machinery are the least concerned about your well-being and safety, as well as mine. so if i may, reduce this issue to the very basic societal unit as an analogy, the gun makers as the parent, and the people as the son or daughter; do you really think that the parent is leading the child down a safer path? if i say that not everybody is out there to get you, will you drop your gun? and if we can actually do something so that people wont be out there to get you, would you be willing to work towards that? if the change in our thinking cant start with me, with us, where and whom can it start? but im not completely detached from reality. nobody is taking your guns away. we just need a sensible gun control mechanism in place, as one of the ways to minimize the carnage. and when you argue that gun control only put the burden on law-abiding citizens since criminals will get their guns anyways, then why have laws, any law, at all? its unlikely that we will eliminate the carnage until we radically change our approach but if we can at least minimize it, dont you think its worth it? dont let the perfect be the enemy of the good . . . yes, i am idealistic, make love, not war . . . we dont need to wait to get to heaven to experience the promise, we can start right here, right now . . .
