... listening to Dick Cheney pontificate about Iraq on This Week on ABC -- an eerie sense of quiet disbelief settling in: we know, of course, that this mothball-covered crowd -- the Cheneys, the Rumsfelds, the Bill Kristols, et al -- have no shame and no notion of basic decency and zero ability to learn from their own horrendous mistakes and no minimal capacity for introspection -- but why in the world are they still, and so readily and solicitously, given the platform of major newspapers op-ed pages and network political talk-shows? Why still pay attention to them, why drag them out of the morass of well-deserved oblivion, when the only words they could credibly utter at this point would be ones of humble apology?
