living here for 30 years Ive been thru a TON of Quakes...I was in San Fran for the 7.2, Here for the Northridge quake, and one other really big one...Freeways fell, bridges, power lines down everywhere, transformers constantly exploding randomly,,water, gas, all gone...buildings crumbled, traffic at a standstill, no emergency services etc..not to mention the looters and people out to take advantage of the situation...They are not kidding at all when they tell you to have enough supplies for at least a week.(ESPECIALLY water, flashlights, batteries and candles)..cuz we will be on our own completely...been there done that, trust me, its true..they were ALL bad...anything below a 6 and we r good so dont sweat the small ones...Welcome to California....LOL!
