(long story, but worth the read) Got a nice little, very unexpected surprise at work today. I work at a college bookstore, off and on, when they need extra help, been there for about a year and a half. During my first semester there, I rung up a sale for this girl, and she paid with a credit card. I told her she needed to sign the receipt. She asked me, if she had to sign her name, or if she could write whatever she wanted. So I told her, well, it doesnt matter to me, sign whatever you want. So, she signed Batman. Of course I found this funny, then told her, that if I ever saw her again, I would call her Batman, and that her secret identity was safe with me. I ended up seeing her all the time, around campus, and of course, called her Batman. Anyhoo, last week in the store, she was waiting in the very long lines at the bookstore, waiting to pay for her merchandise at the check out registers. I was at a different counter, that was designated for refunds, exchanges, returns, and selling back books. I didnt have any customers, and saw her waiting in line. So I went up to her, and said excuse me Miss, we have that book that you are looking for over at this other counter, if you want to just follow me, Ill help you with that. She said to me you are perfect, thank you. So I rung her up for her merchandise, and told her, dont worry you know a guy here, I figured you didnt want to wait in that long line. This was last Thursday. I was just doing my thing, being the nice guy that I am. She comes into the bookstore, today, and drops off a $10 giftcard to Dunkin Donuts for me, and says this is for you. It reads: To Paul, From Batman: Thursday was the worst day Ive had in a long time and your act of kindness turned it around, thank you. I had absolutely no idea she was having a bad day, I was only being me. Very cool. Im glad I turned her day around, and made it better
