malaysia - across the globe BNI ASEAN+ Best Practice Workshop a Success Submitted by Y.P. Lai, National Director - BNI Thailand, BNI Vietnam, BNI Korea & BNI Philippines The BNI ASEAN+ Team enjoyed an outstanding four-day “BNI Best Practice Workshop” hosted by BNI Kuala Lumpur West. Ninety-plus participants attended from nine countries: Malaysia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, and the Philippines. The first two days of the workshop focused on “Launching Large Hall of Fame Chapters” and the next two days on “Supporting and Growing Large Platinum Chapters.” We used the Director Consultant Training framework for the flow. In addition, all the BNI directors from various regions shared how they successfully executed the BNI system to achieve outstanding results. Many BNI launch directors that had successfully launched Hall of Fame Chapters attended the workshop, as did many BNI support & growth directors that had grown their chapters to Platinum status and beyond. Many of the director consultants come from regions where the average chapter size is 45+. All agreed that this was the most inspiring workshop they had ever attended. A highlight was a report from Quyen, the executive director from BNI Hanoi West (Vietnam), about the December launch of a Hall of Fame Platinum Chapter with a core group of 61 members! Joining her were Rose from BNI Ho Chi Minh West, and Wilson from BNI Hong Kong, who had both launched multiple large Hall of Fame Chapters. Everyone played full out during the workshop, always ready to openly and selflessly share their joys and challenges. We were moved by the depth of the sharing - laughing at the funny stories, and crying when we listened to some of the directors’ journeys. That weekend, many of us found the reason we chose to become BNI directors and focused on the contributions we want to make to our community and our country.
