God description of a spiritual apostate system compromising the truth. Daniel 8:12 And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered. The truth cast to the ground. Ephesians 5:31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother,and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32 This is a great mystery; but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Nevertheless, let everyone of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband. The Bride of Jesus represent his church. A beautiful woman appearing in heaven represents the New Testament Christians church. The harlot of Rev. 17 represents the fallen church. Revelation 17:4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: The colors of this fallen apostate church system are purple and scarlet, the very color of the Roman church. Her headquarters are situated on the City of Seven Hills or Rome Revelation 17:9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sitteth. Revelation 17:5 And upon her forehead was a name written MYSTERY BABYLON THE GREAT THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. Genesis 11: 9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter then abroad upon the face of all the earth. Babylon represents confusion. Here God confused the languages. Spiritual Babylon represents religious confusion. Daniel 4:30 The king spake and said Is not this great Babylon, that I have build for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honor of my majesty? Babylon is a man-made system based on human tradition and achievement . Isaiah 45:22 Look unto me and be ye saved all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.
