mmmm, im thinking of a cool brisk evening, the time is late October 1946 aprox. 5pm. the place is worthington Indiana, a small town in southwest Indiana. I just came out of the triangle restaurant with a warm cup of coffee, I walked across the street and sat down at one of the benchs on the triangle itself. I thought with the war over now, all the heavy traffic is almost gone, things have slowed down now and almost back to normal. I can hear a song by billie holiday playing from the drug stores new record machine, and I see the teenagers dancing through the window. I glance down the street and see doc pickards garage and all the cars outside waiting to be worked on, and im glad to see he has so much business. But I am awaiting to see the woman I am in love with since high school, she agreed to meet me here at 530 and we would have a nice dinner and see the movie at 9 just down the street. its starting to get cold and its 5:25, I hope she dressed warm. I looked down the street by the bank and she just turned the corner, I know its her by her long blonde hair, she is so beautiful..........
