morning well firstly merry xmas to all and happy holidays i hope like me you have some down time cos i intend to play with all my new goodies ... when i find a place to store it all all up ive 7 core kits (untouched) , 4 mini kits , 7 specialty sets eg gold foil, set of transparencies overlays 6x4, 5 mini kits many gold featured. and 7 stampin up project life sets. so safe to say i have a large haul oh and the stickers , dividers thickers letters my new gold book and gold theme will be fun and with the selphy ive already got a few catch up days in december daily so today i really want to catch that up whats everyone doing today this boxing day? crafting, family time or just chilling..or perhaps youve hit the sales . i say no no no to that one lol ps spotlight have a huge pl sale and a huge general craft sale dont miss out and bring your vip card . todays tip cleaning stamps and new polymer stamps ok most of us who stamp esp through stampin up use a ink cleaner and mat to clean the stamps and works a treat, but you do still get a build up over time. firstly its really important to use the right cleaner . the one for everyday ink pads (waterbased) is a mist and can be obtained through su craft shops etc. being waterbased ink thats fine. you can use babywipes or even soapy water . however if your using stayzon , memento, encore metalics etc you need to use a different based cleaner as 1. these inks stain and are permanent 2. you need a alchcol based cleaner for these inks to keep your stamps in good condition its vital you do as if not in time they weather and the rubber will go hard and brittle and eventually not usable so its wiorth the outlay to clean properly..... the new su polymer stamps... ok these are great high quality and worth the price. but there have been a few issues with these as they are incredulously sticky and have been known to rip care stock . when these and all stamps are made they use a resin to get them out of the mold. this resin can make stamps sticky and not stamp properly. especially with the su polymer stamps wash them in dishwashing liquid and dry completely if its still feeling overly sticky use your paper block sander and gently rub over the stamp evenly to reduce the residue ..stamp off on plain paper till your satisfied good luck happy crafting all
