moyes xdop ciri2 world class manager 2 weeks ago, David Moyes wrote a letter to the fans pleading for patience and faith. One week later, b4 the biggest game of his first season, David Moyes declared Liverpool as favourites against Man Utd at Old Trafford. - How does that appease the fans? - How does that help the players? Its a home game against your greatest rivals, in front of some 76000 fans (not including those watching on television) and he decides to shoot his team in the foot even b4 the game begin. - How does a declaration of that sort motivates your team? Its disheartening to say the least. You have world class players in RvP and Rooney plus expensive signings in De Gea, Carrick, Fellaini and Mata and you tell the press that your greatest rivals are favourites in a game where you are playing at home? Put yourself in the players shoes, how would they have felt? Sir Alex Ferguson would never have stooped that low even during his first 5 years as Man Utd manager where Kenny Daglishs Liverpool and Howard Kendalls Everton were dominating the league. Big clubs are always expected to win their home games regardless of oppositions position and especially when the opposition is your rival. David Moyes, a manager can change the backroom staff, the training schedule and even buy the players he wants, but if he does not know how to motivate his players, even a world-class first 11 under his management will end up mid-table, if not bottom.
