my closest friends will testify that i dont listen to zambian - TopicsExpress

my closest friends will testify that i dont listen to zambian music, mostly because of its babogum element. but my closest friends, perhaps my fience will also testify that my favourite song of all times was uzipezeka nabantu bokusamala by brian A.K.A PJAY..... i love that song with all my being. i am a constant critic of zambian music, upto this far, i still feel we havent pushed our selves to the limit, especially were international recogntion is concerned...but i had hopes that one day we would break through, and the people who could do that for us with ease according to me was PJAY and CACTUS AGONY..am hard to impress but these two according to my musical expertise were actually on point. i write music for people, some of the greatest hits of all times are works of my hands, i cant mention names because of contract obligations. Pjay always asked me to write him a song, i never did, i never took him serious, come on, how can i write PJAY a song, he was one of the greatest writers of our music along side exile. but wrote a chorus of a song PJAY did with daxon ma africa at karmy and i also wrote PJAY daliso song (dr dee). i was prevailed to do several songs with with him, most people no chalo.which is downloadable on waptrick. most people who were not close to him would think that his musical role model was probably a western artist, yes he listened to alot of R and B. If i am to make judgement from the conversations we had, i THINK he was mostly inspired by our very own leo A.K.A kmillion. I never knew Kmillion personally, but one day i received a phone call from him, to go and meet him in olympia. when i met him he told me he had heard and actually appreciated my works,he gave me some very important advice we ve not talked since. am devasted, i am saddened, by this great loss. you will be amazed if i started listing the number of artists he used to write music for.he was indeed the future. the death of pjay maybe the end of some zambian artists.(God forbid). i would be lying if i said we were close friends, we actually never even used to call each other but am so struck by this loss. with all due respect, i do not wish to undermine other people who have long gone and contributed to zambian music, but according to me, this is the greatest loss zambian music has suffered, along side the death of song bird lilly tambo. the only thing we can do for pjay now, is to direct his young brother, who sounds more like him, to develop and give us a simmiler sound, take time to listen to him, his very good. The future is gone, i wonder wat remains of zambian music love u bra, till we meet again.....rest in peace in tears yours luka phiri aka sistic mullah
