my home is Alaska. out here in the bush, search n rescue missions are none like no other. here is a few of many that goes out on searches when a person (s) is/are lost or have broken down or ran out of gas from going place to place. despite the weather and the temp, we are out there hoping for the best of that person or people just like in any town or city. out here, our supplies are limited. most times, more than often, we use our own vehicles. such as snow machines and boats (skiffs). a lot of times, we supply our own fuel/oil for our vehicles. we all depend on what we have to do our searches. we dont have things LAPD or NYPD or any big city would have to do such things like this and our search days are very limited. we rarely get funds from any or other organizations n such. so we do small raffles n go home to home for donations to get our funds. here, some times near by villages will team up n spread out n search the vast array of wilderness. a needle in a hay stack. just like the real world, unfortunately, some dont get the chance to make it back home alive or not at all. the lucky ones either are found alive or come walking back home. here in this pic, it is what we call zero zero and/or white out. zero zero meaning unable to see very far and white out meaning unable to see just like being in a pitch black stage, but white. white out, you cant see the bumps or ditches or snow drifts n things like that making it very dangerous to be traveling even at slow speeds. where ever you are, be safe n be careful. although My Home Is Alaska and life here is amazing, it can also be unforgiving.
