my interview with The Black Hollow How was The Black Hollow formed? The Black Hollow started when I was in 10th grade in my world history class.I had just got kicked out of my other band and I wanted to start something. Something with my vision and with the music I wanted to play. I wanted to use the name the band Sleepy Hollow but that was obviously taken. So I started listening to music and suddenly I started listening to the Nine Inch Nails Album “With Teeth". It got to the song “The Hand That Feeds".There is a line in that song that goes " inside your heart it is black and it’s hollow and it’s cold" and I dont know why but that just stuck with me. I guess it was just perfect timing. So aft er that I started looking for members. That took a very long time the first person to ever join was close friend of mine Chris Eaton. Chris stuck with me for the longest time he started as guitar then turned to bass. So for awhile it was just us to me singing and playing guitar and him playing bass. We ended up recording an entire acoustic ep in one day. He ended up leaving and I started looking for new members went through about 6 different line ups then I found Matti via old guitarist Stefan. Stef had to quit cause he was moving so I started talking to Matti he had the first song’s music written already. Then I asked Cam to join and from there just destiny. Have you always been a singer, or was that a talent you kept to yourself. I started singing around 12 years old me and childhood friend Loren Gorman and Garett Long. I wanted to play guitar but I wasn’t that good and Loren was better no one wanted to sing so i just decided to give it a shot and they liked it so I’ve been a singer ever since. “cool and here i thought you was one of those kids from young singing around the neighborhood” “I kinda used to be like that too but it was more for laughs I used to rap and beat box for the kids when i was in like 2nd grade hahaha. What are your views on religion? My views on religion I think people have the right to believe whatever they want to believe in. Just should keep their negative opinions to themselves. I think people shouldn’t force people to believe what they believe in or don’t believe in and mainly just be peaceful about whatever you believe in. Also just have curtsy for others and respect for others. Me personally I’m an agnostic and I just try not to bring up religion to others because I don’t really think it should matter. I have friends that are Satanist, Christians, atheists, and wiccans. To me believe what you want to believe just have respect for me and other people. what the weirdest/Freakest thing that ever happened to you. The weirdest thing well I got a handjob in a movie theater once that was pretty weird hahaha.’’ That was the front man Daimen Clark’s words Cam’s story was he was in Phoenix near the university on a Saturday night, he went into a restaurant and waited for the food he order. When suddenly a drunken man walk up behind him on the line and started to stroke his back; ‘like I don’t know if the guy was trying to gain stability or come on to me. who are your major influence, such as band, and musicians , what inspires you to write songs? There’s response 2Pac,Danny Elfman, Nirvana, Dave Grohl, Trent Reznor, Nikki Sixx, Motley Crue,Eminem,Pete Wentz & Patrick Stump, Escape the Fate, Snoop Lion, Dr. Dre, Matti Hoffman my guitarist, Gym Class Heros, and Chris Adler, most importantly my mother and my son oh and my babys mom she is what causes me to write awesome lyrics How many hours a day do you guys practice. when we do practice it’s like 2/3 hours of practice the rest of the time we just hangout, eat, and just talk. which year did you graduate high school and any plans of college I was supposed to graduate this yea in may but I was missing credits so I have to wait till December Possibly next may and I really would like my music career to kick off said Daimen Clark Cam Daly on the other hand is on his last year and has plans college Not University to study Auto Engineering.
