my monthly happy place is at the listening series A Place to Listen (James Bay United Church 3rd Wednesday of the month at 7pm). Tonights offering features original compositions by Kristy Farkas Dante Boon Leo Svirsky and Daniel Brandes. Its an extremely gentle way to be introduced to the leading edge of new music--a territory that is inhabited by a relatively small number of individuals, but which yields its own startling revelations and unique rewards.
