my mother, my aunt, my little brother and little cousin driving through Pine Island, Florida; eating fresh picked mangoes and selecting shrimp just brought in from the boats, marveling at Manta Rays and giant Isopods... Esther ( as my auntie called my mom) and Nene soulfully singing almost every song with thoughtful and joyful pauses to look out at nature and everything on it,reflecting on how life is truly made of moments....Manuel and Mariaelena laughing and soaking in the the adventure,,and Cary discovering that mango is her forbidden fruit as the juices so deliciously ran down my chin and neck, bathing the essence of my being in the soft balmy breeze that kissed the sweetness on my face.
