my political scientist friend wrote; In my year 1 at Uniport, I had a very disciplined political science lecturer named Prof Kimsi Okoko, he took us on Pol 101, he was the the president of Ijaw National conference. Prof Okoko as he was called was a nightmare to any bad government because he was at liberty to tongue lash you without any fear or favor. He so much believes in your power of arguments, in one of his exams,,he asked us of a Marxist theory but I mistakenly answered with Thomas Hobbs theory but because of my convincing argument, he gave me an A in that course. Some very good things I learnt from my prof was that when a military overthrows a military, its called a coup de tat, when a military overthrows a civilian its called a military take over. I guess he forgot to teach us what to call retired military taking over a civilian government. I have been looking for my Prof since I noticed the ploy of our retired military men to take over power in Nigeria, if not for anything, my prof will help me with the definition of these retired military act. Some day my God will help me to see my prof. Am one person who is very objective in my analysis, the tenure of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo is one we will not forget in a hurry for his ability to decentralize the Nigeria military, he made military intervention in governance almost impossible. I strongly believe that If not for the good actions of OBJ, Nigeria would have been plunged into another military mess. But today I think Obasanjo is regretting that good thing he did for us, he seems to have shot himself on the leg. The power of life and death seems to have been removed from him. Obasanjo who has suddenly realized that he doesnt have any electoral value after loosing even his ward election now seeks for a forceful way of regaining his lost relevance. With his latest actions, he is wishing he never did what he did. Now having seen how difficult it is to topple the government by force, they are now trying to use our brain to take over power again. PLEASE SAY NO TO MILITARY REGIME IN NIGERIA, SAY NO TO THE RETIRED MILITARY COMING BACK TO RULE US AGAIN. The recent U turn by Babangida is questionable. What we were not able to get from the young military men then, we will surely not get it from the old and retired ones now. Reject military incursion into our democracy, reject Buhari. Vote modern democracy where rule of law thrives,The choice is yours.
