my radiation oncologist was amazing!!!!! that being said, im still emotional, its like a roller coaster..to recap..went to the cancer center today. hes being very aggressive just like my ENT, which he says is an automatic reaction anytime cancer has spread to lymph nodes. i was gonna have the radioactive iodine next week, but cause i had a ct scan in the last few months which puts iodine int he body, he is starting me on synthroid 125mcg today and then have to stop on the 8th, have blood checked the 15th, and if tsh is high enough, i start radioactive iodine...afterwhich they want my tsh in the future to always be low, so if they see a spike, means cancer came back. he was very up front with worst case scenrio, it was scary but he wanted me fully informed. he thinks that with my age etc that we will kick cancers butt! he wants it done before the new year! and he took a big chunk of stress away saying he would most def have me in isolation in the hospital during the first 3-4 days of radioactive iodine. im sure i am forgetting something but theres my update...was scary and emotional but i am trying to be very hopeful.
