my sister is getting married in a couple months and she wants my son to be a page boy. she already has four other page boys (her 3 boys and a cousin) lined up. my son will have just turned two and the wedding is on right at his normal nap time, and im concerned about how he is going to tolerate the disruption to his sleep. his routine is locked in really tight and after i had to try to keep him up over christmas, i can pretty safely guess whats going to go down. i have always thought that its not necessary for my boy to be in the wedding party, i appreciate the sentiment but with the fact that hes not the only page boy, we dont have the money to dress him, the inevitable tantrums and the fact that i am the maid of honour and am expected to be going full-on from 6am until the reception ends at 9pm that night, im not keen. my sister blew up when i told her i didnt think it was a good idea and we had a screaming match where she told me that i wasnt considering her feelings, but i feel that she isnt considering mine. her children are used to odd hours and lots of people, so she expects my son to cope, which upsets me because i know theres a really good chance he wont and then she will be furious because he will be having a tantrum in the middle of the wedding and it will be ruined. she has also made it clear that she expects my son to stay at the reception until it finishes at 9pm (again, long after his bedtime). am i being unreasonable for not wanting my boy in the wedding party?
