Since then, weve been engaged in research to develop some great technologies based on this. I am especially excited about this material, as it will not only have WONDERFUL applications in industry and sports, but it will also be a GREAT tool for me to use to promote science to young curious minds. I imagine that one day Ill be able to show to a group of young kids how science has made it possible to be like their favorite super heroes, and how they will one day be able to do amazing things as well through logic and science. This simple discovery opens up a great avenue for scientific outreach, an effort I am particularly interested in seeing more energy being put into. Among the industrial applications, the most obvious is that this device can be used to greatly increase the safety of many high risk jobs, as well as potential defense uses (outfit a recon team with it and see how kick ass they are).
