ndependent Compatriot: July 2, 2013 at 12:28 pm (Quote) Consensus Emerging There is a consensus among some netizens that TJS is exposing too much of his welfare state ideas for Singapore’s good. They are worried that his ideas could be stolen or copied by anyone including the ruling PAP which is bankrupt of fresh innovations or political convictions to advance Singapore’s well-being and repackage them as their own to sell to the MDA-censored ‘ignorant’ electorate in GE2016. This will be the case as TJS has yet to declare his formal political platform. An Excellent Program in Modern Welfare State TJS is the only politician that is championing a modern welfare state as his historical responsibility for Singapore. He is being transparent about his political moves as he would like to share his program with both the PAP and the Opposition. His Oxford Fellowship has lent excellent credence to his far-reaching efforts. Transparency: A Double-edged Sword Being transparent is a double-edged sword. First, TJS could be denied a seat in parliament by PAP gerrymandering for a formal debate of his welfare-state program. Second, he could be detained indefinitely under ISA on trumped up charges so he could not display his program prowess. Third, he must have access to detailed insider if updated information in the bureaucracy that is available only piecemeal to some trusted if select career permanent secretaries, their deputies and CEOs of state agencies who are now increasingly phased out prematurely in favor of retired senior military officers. The third point is important as trusted military officers trained in the art of order-taking and yes-man discipline have no qualms in plagiarizing anything that suits their pragmatism for survival. As secrecy is full-proofed and hands-on, no such Edward Snowden can emerge to upset the status quo. Indeed, it is such a pity that the bureaucracy especially the excellent Administrative Service is now compromised and militarized to hold the PAP desperately onto Kleptocracy power. New Approach Minimally, TJS must now take a new tactical approach to managing his welfare state program. He must restrict his background knowledge and excellent understanding to give openly only a brief outline of his program. This is also to maximize his flexibility for subsequent amendments when he gets a seat in parliament and after he has official access to detailed insider information from the bureaucracy.
