(never had an issue with HotSpots before with my dogs... treating Kenai with it today... Pictures witll be comign as to what the progress is. when it works, i will presenting this treatment to the vet) Natural doTERRA Treatment for Dog Hot Spots Skin inflammation and infection, known as “hot spots,” are common among dogs, but they can still be serious. Some may be superficial, but others may indicate severe infection. These hot spots can be caused by common behaviors such as scratching, liking and biting, and these same behaviors can also make them worse, so having an effective treatment readily available can be crucial. Before treating the hot spot, check and make sure the area is free of fleas and other pests. You will want to eliminate any pest as they may be contributing to the cause of the hot spots anyway. Clean the area with a mild soap. Castile soap works well. Then allow the area to dry completely. Next treat with the following mixture: 1 ounce of Olive oil or Almond oil 5 drops of dōTERRA Tea Tree oil *If your dog’s skin is particularly sensitive, dōTERRA Lavender oil can be used instead of Tea Tree oil Apply to hot spots five times a day for best results.
