news trending today and heres my take on the matter: BIKE REGISTRATION has ALWAYS BEEN optional, they cannot enforce it because theres really no way the local government can track down stolen bikes!! THEREs really no logic to the matter and it can be contested. BIKE LANES and ROAD SHARING are always and have been implemented by countries who are progressive. Philippines will always be a 3rd world country due to PEOPLE who repress the idea of BIKE LANES and ROAD SHARING. Theres not much money in the road sharing program and thats why local government will dismiss the idea since it will only make Cebu independent from fossil fuels and the like. EXAMPLE: If youre visiting Cebu City from Bohol, Mandaue, Car2, Mactan....CITOM cannot force or tell you to register your bike before coming to Cebu City. If youre bike IS REGISTERED and it gets stolen, CITOM / POLICE / LTO are not going to do anything despite the fact theyll collect money for that since they simply dont care about your bikes. They just want to create a movement to take money from the public, its a TAKE / TAKE scenario for their pockets. WHAT HAS YOUR GOVERNMENT DONE FOR ANY OF YOU LATELY??? People who try to discourage the realization of Bike Lanes are also the same people who will enjoy using them but will not admit it. They all know who they are
