nice outdoor dinner concert last night here in Dunsmuir (23rd consecutive annual). A dozen youngsters from the Siskiyou Violins (Russian school) and Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra conducted by Ben Simon. 8 beautiful pieces and some fun ones on top of those. The leave here tonight play in Ashland Oregon tomorrow then Rome Italy on Wednesday, touring and playing in smaller venues in Tuscany. Two students were selected to conduct a piece each, and one high school student had written a scintillatingly beautiful piece, and world premier of Adagio and Allegro. Watch for future greatness with this young college freshman-Stephen Spies, winner of the 2013 Youth for Youth Commission. Wow--really good stuff.
