now I have understood how God exists outside of time and therefore God’s creation began to exist, not in time but ‘with time. Time itself came into existence with creation. And so, what was there ‘before’ creation? When we ask this question, we allow ourselves to be tricked by our imagination, which spontaneously prolongs the line of time into a supposed pre-creation phase of being. Actually, prior to creation there was no being, just nothing. And therefore, no time. For God, only the present exists. God lives in an unchanging NOW, without yesterday and tomorrow. Looking down from his transcendent now, he grasps at a single glance all the moments of time. This means that all historical events, all individuals, all peoples and even each of their actions are co-present to him.
