now a very vivid example of not CURSING people in authority is seen in d event between Paul and the High priest Ananias... ACTS 23:1-5,. it also shows that evil bad rulers r still not 2 b insulted! Paul stood before d Jewish highest council (Sanhedrin) and said i have lived in all good conscience before God until today Ananias the high priest provoke! he ordered those close to Paul to give him a dirty slap.. n a dirty slap indeed did Paul receive.. now listen 2 wat Paul said... Paul said God will strike you, you whitewashed wall, for you sit to judge me according to the law, and do you command me to be struck contrary to the law? now in verse 4, people around Paul where suprised at d outburst n said in disbelief do you revile Gods high priest? Umunne m na umunna m, hear wat Paul said: I DID NOT KNOW, BROTHERS, THAT HE WAS THE HIGH PRIEST; for it is written, THOU SHALL NOT SPEAK EVIL OF A RULER OF YOUR PEOPLE Paul actually quoted the passage of our previous lesson on Lesson 3.. i know most of us are hearing this for the 1st time, but it is in our bible.. let us read it and apply it as we enter Day 4 of no insults to the Governor..
