o all Shepparton Swimming Club members, On behalf of the committee, I’d just like to take this chance to thank everyone for their contribution to our successful swim meet on Saturday. I’ve learned quickly that it takes a lot of effort to make these days come together, and I thought yesterday was a great advertisement for the camaraderie and professionalism of our club. In total we had 36 swimmers representing our club, with great support from families, coaches and team-mates. Everyone was willing to get in and lend a hand when needed which made for a smooth, successful and rewarding day for our club. It was especially good to see our new families getting involved with time-keeping, catering, recording, set-up and pack-up. Many hands truly do make light work. Our captains set the goal for our club this year that we become more like a team, and less like a club of individuals. With their continued strong leadership, and the keen involvement of so many swimmers and their families, I feel like we are making some fantastic progress in this regard.
