oh how a year flies by... its that time again. time for me to beg for you to help the NICU babies at KGH. with the latest rage of ice bucket challenges for ALS it might be hard for me to pry a few dollars out of your hands to help some little babies who need it but ill ask anyway. unless youve had a child in the NICU you have no idea how stressful it can be or how important those nurses really are (im looking at one friend in particular whos a NICU nurse now - she knows how important she is to us) as most of you know each year we start asking for NICU donations about a month or so before Emmetts birthday (Oct 7) and in the past weve received a giant outpouring of support from everyone. weve raised a significant amount of cash in the last (almost) 5 years and once again will tackle the challenge to out perform last years haul of blankets, sleepers and mitts/hats for premature babies. this year - blankets once again. receiving blankets are important as any parent knows. teeny tiny hats and/or mitts will also be graciously accepted. no strings on the hats though please - they just get cut off anyway. we ask that they be cleaned in unscented detergent if youre donating used blankets or leave new blankets unwashed (theyll get laundered anyway at the hospital) contact me here or [email protected] if you want to make a donation / send money to have blankets purchased or want to make arrangements for either Stephanie or me to pick them up. think of the babies ...THE BABIES!!! help us out once again friends/family
