oh, i just had the most beautiful evening. i went for a run with my sister under a watercolour sky and on the way home it started to pour with rain. i stood still with my arms spread out grinning. i felt every sweet drop on my hot skin while music played through my headphones, setting the soundtrack to the moment. i danced all the way home. people smiled from their cars but i didn’t notice, it was just my body and the rain. it didn’t matter that i’ve been told i’m a terrible dancer or that i am in my hometown where people might recognise me, because it doesn’t matter. if i had let stupid fears win i’d never have felt so incredibly alive and free. so, here’s to conquering fear and expectation in this awesome world, where cool liquid can fall softly from a pink sky on a hot afternoon, where we get bodies to run and leap and dance and eyes to see all the colours of the sunset and ears to hear music…. oh life.
