ok....Im back! Ok.....Dad (Pastor John E Swearinger) gave us Matt 27:32 Mark 15:21 Luke 23:26....you know hes very thorough! You know I had to go read for myself, right?!!! Dad started off discussing hollywood, how they exaggerate sometimes in the movies. For instance, in the Passion of Christ and.....The Son of God Jesus carried His own cross and He stumble as He carried it, RIGHT.......? Well, when you read the THE WORD/BIBLE for yourself in those scriptures, youll find that Jesus never carried His cross. However, Simon the Cyrenian carried it for him! *Matt....And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross. *Mark.....And they compel one Simon a Cyrenian, who passed by, coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear his cross. *Luke....Simon, a Cyrenian, coming out of the country, and on him they laid the cross, that he might bear it after Jesus. Two things going on here (well, more than two, were just going to focus on these two) #1. 2 Tim 2:15 (not going to give it to you otherwise you wouldnt be doing what it says) #2. He (Simon) carried Jesus cross. Summation: Simon was in the right place at the right time to carry Jesus cross for Him. Can God, depend on you to carry someone elses cross. Will you be in the right place, at the right time to carry your family members, friend, co-worker, or.......the presidents cross? Yes....I know you have your own cross to bear, but we must be concerned about the next person. #Carrysomeonescross/prayertothethroneofGodforthem. Thanks for lunch Dad!
