ok for my friends who have not heard the story.... here goes! Yall knew I moved last year to be closer to my Dad because he needed my assistance and since I moved he has done allot better, gained weight, moved around fairly well and even cheerful. Well that is until Friday night when he decided to go out and get the mail WAY after dark, near midnight is what we have figured. This is after he just twisted his ankle on the john :P. Anyway....when I left him he could barely walk so Bob was checking on him the next night then I was coming back. So after he grabbed the mail he and Bosco and the mail headed down the driveway and his cane sunk in a hole and he went head over heals. He was hurt and he knew it so he tried yelling for our neighbor Doc Broman and his wife but of course they couldnt hear him cuz he was nearly 300 feet from them and they were in bed sleeping. He tried dragging himself on his elbows and heels because he couldnt stand. He wanted to get to the house. After a couple of hours of laying in the driveway he decided out of sheer desperation to try his medical Guardian Alarm which he didnt think would work because he was outdoors but he tried it anyway. The company heard it and after calling him and getting no answer they dispatched an officer and an EMT. They found him and got him inside as he refused an ambulance :(( typical Dad!!!!! anyway....long story short, he had a visit from the neighbor who helped him with his pain medication and something to relax him and he called us in the AM. Kim and I were just on our way to get an early start at Trader Joes when a call from my sister-in-law Jo came in telling us the story. I said BULL-OWNIE!!! call the ambulance and have them meet us at Dads. Fast forward to day 3. Dad is still in Hospital....fractured a pelvic bone and needs to go to transitional care and then home with me while this heals which could take months!! So that what I did this weekend :P
