ok so finally heres the update so far.. I saw the GI specialist at Beth Isreal in Boston. The doctor was really awesome! It has been confirmed that I have severe scar tissue and severe trama with extensive nerve damage to my abdomen. Not the news I really wanted ,but I wasnt surprised. The doctor compared the trama and pain in my abdomen to having a gunshot wound! the GI specialist and the surgeon have ordered all of my previous scans and tests. they are going to look them over because they are trained to see things that the regular tech wouldnt know to look for. depending on what the results from that are will determine if I will need surgery. Yes, I have scar tissue but unless the scar tissue has created an adhesion or a blockage that is emergent, it is not worth the risk to take it out. They would have to go in and look for it and that would create more scar tissue and more nerve damage, so its not worth the risk. BUT the scar tissue is still there and I will have to monitor it. It may never cause an issue but could create some of the situations I talked about, then I would need surgery. I just wont know. awesome!! As for all the nerve damage. thats going to be a problem. I am being hooked up with a special pain management team at Beth Isreal. the goal would be to find the right combination of medications that would dull the nerve pain. they use a lot of the same medications that are used for fibromyalgia. I DO NOT HAVE FIBROMYALGIA, but they would use a lot of the same meds. its not a quick or easy fix and can take some time, but the doctors promise me that they can help. At this time I am still Numb. I knew something was wrong with me but I am devastated to hear the extent of the damage. I just feel broken. I am waiting to hear back from the TEAM and find out when my next apt is. I am hoping to go back next week sometime and meet with the surgeon to find out if I need surgery or not. thank you all so much for all your kind words and prayers.
