ok, so here is the update: The Dr. was unable to determine if the cancer was osteosarcoma (malignant) or osteochondroma (benign). It has the the features of sarcoma but the placement is all wrong of typical sarcomas, its closer to the chondromas normal location, but its features arent typical of chondromas. They couldnt confirm which type it is so they are not sure if its benign or malignant. We have been referred to another pediatric ortho oncologists for another opinion and some tests. From there we can make more decisions...BUT he did say most types of this growth in children are likely to be benign. He could not be sure because he, himself only sees about 4 kids a year with this condition, and Christians looks different than the ones he has diagnosed. For now all I can do is PRAY, PRAY, Pray and wait for call for the new appointment. Im emotionally stressed beyond my limits guys. But Christian is being strong, so I will be too. There is a chance it could be neither of these (not likely) but a chance, but until the pediatric guys sees us we wont know.
