ok, so heres tune/day/2/5. its hard to play a ukelele banjo without smiling - it tends to lighten up your life a bit - george harrison. who wants to die? oh what a happy land, hi! - george formby. we would all squash up into a beaten up old morris minor. my mum driving, my dad navigating (and keeping the piece with a rolled up newspaper), with us three squabbling kids and the dog all squashed in amongst the luggage. and off wed go to nan and grandads for two weeks at the seaside. in readiness before we set off, id paint my hands with pva glue and let it dry, so that in between bouts of violent car-sickness, when it got REALLY boring, i could painstakingly peel it off, trying to keep each cast in one piece... there was no car radio, we had a small cassette player and this tune was always part of the soundtrack to our annual summer road movie. a tune that united us albeit briefly in song. it charms the pants off my ears every time i hear it, and am reminded to count my blessings... enjoy! :) x x x youtu.be/RE2NbOHtlNc
