oki = hola Elsie Black Eagle Child Birth: 1939 Death: Apr. 4, 2011 Calgary Alberta, Canada Elsie Eagle Child Elsie Eagle Child of Calgary, AB passed away peacefully on April 4, 2011 at the age of 72 years. Elsie was the fourth oldest child of the John and Maude Black. She was born and raised on the Siksika Nation. Elsie attended school at the Old Sun Residential School. She worked as a Nurses Aide in the Camcel Hospital in Edmonton, this is where she met her future husband Dan Eagle Child. Later, she worked in various occupations until she married Dan in 1958 and began their family, together they had 7 children. Elsie leaves behind to mourn her husband Dan; children Lynn, Darcy, Tina, Fanny, Johnathan, Danny; her grandchildren Patty, Cheyenne, Lyle, Darcy Jr., Tanya, Elysia, Todd, Jessika, Misty, Creedence, Lanessa, Colton, Lacinda, Feather, Fawn, Lasandra, Danny Girl, Lai-Lan, Vernon; great-grandchildren Dakota, Shastina, Christian, Ethan, Grace, Micah, Kolby, Drayden, Jesse James, Aiden, Dalaysia, Shayda, Violet; sisters Theresa, Eileen, Sally and Sheila Black; brothers Sidney and Stanley Black; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins, too numerous to mention. Elsie was predeceased by her parents; siblings Patsy Little Light, Nelson Black; son Joey; grandsons Kyle, Nolan and great-granddaughter Chanelle. Elsie was a devout believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and made her Cursillo. Amongst her love in life was attending and dancing at powwows and taking care of and being with her numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren that she treasured so deeply. She loved teasing, gossiping on the phone and was a big fan of wrestling. Elsie was a very special person, kind and loving to all that knew her. She loved her children dearly and was proud of them all. She was sick with diabetes for many years and she never gave up, she was a fighter. We will miss her in our own way, She is gone but her spirit remains alive. A Family Service will be held at 4 P.M., on Friday, April 8, 2011 at EDENS FUNERAL HOME, 24245th Ave., Fort Macleod, with a Wake Service to follow at 7 P.M to 11 P.M., at ST. PAULS ANGLICAN CHURCH, Blood Reserve. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 A.M., on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at ST. PAULS ANGLICAN CHURCH, Blood Reserve, with Reverend Sidney Black, Officiating. Interment to follow in St. Catherines Cemetery.
