omg just found this amazing recipe tucked away in the back of my book. Its fool proof and delicious but probably for the grown ups as its rich and dark. dark chocolate and blood orange tart confi orange: 2blood oranges thinly sliced sugar syrup make 1:1 sugar and water place cut oranges in oven proof dish cover with syrup place baking sheet over top and then foil bake in 150 preheated oven for 1hour remove foil & paper and bake for further 1/2 to 1 hour until thick and caremalised. squeeze juice of 1 lemon into sauce/syrup to freshen and brighten. keeps well in the fridge pastry: 100g unsalted butter 125g plain flour 65ml sourcream pulse butter & flour in food processor leave the butter a little lumpy add sour cream hold a little back check consistancy if it feels likea boob its good. line your greased tart shell go up over the edge it will shrink blind bake 200 for 12min remove beans and bake for 5 more minutes. chocolate filling: 250g dark chocolate (plaistow brand is good) 250g thickened cream 10g butter boil cream pour over broken/chopped chocolate let stand for 3minutes before stiring to combine then add butter to make shiny pour into tart and chill in fridge for 1hour or till set. serve with chopped orange and a little syrup with a dollop of whipped or double think cream. you can add a splash of your favourite liquor to the choc mix if you like. cointreau/ baileys, port are some examples. Enjoy The pastry is great for custard tarts just add a tblspn of icing sugar to the mix
